ABOUT US

The Rueda Flamenca group works since 2001 to propagate the flamenco music and dance, recovering traditional aspects of the spanish culture and permeating the most recent characteristics that flamenco art comes evolving in the international scene.

The group have a tight bond between its members, that results in an optimal synergy in scene. Directed by Monita Ruedas, choreographer and dancer, graduated in dance from Faculdade Paulista de Artes - São Paulo - Brazil, besides her perfectioning courses gives flamenco dance classes. Attended to courses from renowned spanish, as Rafaela Carrasco, Manuel Liñan, Mercedes Ruiz, Olga Pericet, Pilar Ogalla, Carmen "la Talegona", "la China", Carlos Carbonell, a masterclass from Eva "la Yerbabuena", Juan Polvillo, "la Toromba", Soraya Clavijo, Maria Moreno, "la Lupi", Domingo Ortega, Gala Vivancos, Leonor Leal and others.

We also have the musical direction of Carlos Ruedas, guitarist responsible for the annual shows presented by Estúdio Rueda Flamenca.

The Rueda Flamenca owns a flexible profile, adapting show's aspects (music, wardrobe, accessories, number of dancers and themes) according to the necessity and audience's interests, keeping the main focus on showing the expressivity of andalusian culture towards handclaps, footwork, castanets, typical dresses and the most important, the emotional charge that exists in any gesture and music, spontaneously experiencing the entire artistic universe of the Andalusian gypsy people.
